As a kid, I loved visiting the library. I would sit for hours in a corner, on the floor, reading books on everything I could get my hand on. When my mom started teaching me to cook (ah! my first béchamel sauce), I naturally started reading cookery books. And one day I found the most beautiful book… I don’t remember a single recipe, but each picture was of the most beautiful food, evidently lit by glowing golden afternoon light — you could just imagine the sunlight streaming through autumn leaves and lace curtains. It’s the kind of light in which elder flowers would look perfectly at home… I guess… so photos! I think that was the book which made me appreciate the magic of food photography, and discovering the wonder that is foodbeam reminded me of it. So, once I have access to a camera, you can bet that some epic shots of my messy kitchen are sure to follow.
